Questions and Answers to Language Options

Exam language options

The PMP certification exam is given in English by default.

However, there are a number of language options that can be ordered when booking your exam seat.

Helpful: If you order one of these language versions, you can access the original English version of the exam question at any time during the exam.

  • Arabic
  • Bahasa (indonesian)
  • Chinese (traditional, simplified)
  • German
  • French
  • Hebrew
  • Italian

  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • Polish
  • Portugese (brazilian)

Exam in Englisch or your native language? Here is my recommendation:

  1. If you speak English well enough, I recommend taking the exam in English. Working bilingually - your native language  with occasional checking with the original English version for unclear questions - can slow you down and make you lose time. In one single language, you will be faster.

  2. If your command of the English language is not sufficient, please use the translation in your native language. Many candidates have used it and successfully passed the exam with it.
When do you know whether your English skills are sufficient? At the latest at the end of the preparatory seminar with many practice questions, you can assess this very well.

Conversation Language during the Seminar

We perform seminars for the PMP-preparation in German and English. Both approaches, using first language or English, have specific advantages:

Native language Seminar

Advantages:
  • For a native speaker, it is much less strenuous to follow the very demanding 35-h seminar in the native language.
  • Ongoing references during the seminar to English terms and their translations facilitate bilingual preparation.

Advantages:
  • One comes into contact with international participants.
  • Uniform language for seminar, seminar material and exam, if one wants to take the exam in English.

Corporate Seminar

English Language Seminar Materials in a Native Language Seminar?

Experience shows that even for participants who want to take the exam in their native language, it makes sense to prepare with English-language materials:

  • During a test session using a translated, non-English exam, a question may be incomprehensible, e.g. because a technical term has been translated inaccurately from the English original. You can then call up the original English version and check. In such a case, it is of course advantageous if you have learned the English term in the seminar.
  • When a participant does not understand a certain English term in the seminar, the person can immediately ask the trainer.
  • Participants know by the end of the seminar at the latest whether it is better to take the exam in English or in their own language.
  • Those who take the exam in English will be better prepared with English materials.
